A pair of brothers analyzed 52 paintings of the Last Supper done between 1000 and 2000 AD and found the portion sizes in the paintings increased dramatically over the years — the main course size by 69%, plate size by 66% and loaves of bread by 23%, as compared the the apostles’ head size. The researchers said the findings show that increasing portion size is nothing new but has been “a general trend for at least the last millennium.”

What a cool idea for a study. Not sure what its real value may be, but it surely gets points for creativity.
